BYU Football Recruiting: 2017 OL Mango Finau signs with the Cougars

NCAA Football: UCLA at Brigham Young Jeff Swinger-USA TODAY Sports

Paula “Mango” Finau, a 6-foot-5, 350-pound offensive line prospect from Baldwin High School in Wailuku, Hawaii, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for BYU. Finau is rated as a two-star prospect by Rivals.com.

Finau brings size to the BYU line. He also played along the defensive line during his time at Baldwin High, but is expected to initially push for time along the offensive line. He was largely under the radar during the recruiting process, but the staff liked his size and saw enough to offer Finau a scholarship.

It may take a few years for Finau to develop and contribute for BYU, but he definitely has the size to be a road grader in the interior of the BYU offensive line. He has some of the same skill set as current BYU offensive guard Tuni Kunuch.

Finau is expected to enroll at BYU for the upcoming season.
