D’Angelo Gunter, a 6-1, 182-pound cornerback prospect from Del Norte High in San Diego, California, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for BYU.

Gunter received an 82.81 score from the 247Sports Composite, making him a three-star prospect and the 125th best prospect in the state of California this year. He also received offers from eight other schools, including Vanderbilt, Hawaii, and Utah State.

Gunter committed to BYU last week via his twitter account, and made it official today with his letter of intent. Vanderbilt made a late push for the defensive back, but he decided to sign with the Cougars over the Commodores.

Cornerbacks coach Jernaro Gilford was the main recruiter, and played a huge role in BYU landing Gunter.

Gunter is not LDS, so he will be suiting up for the Cougars in the 2017 season.
