Tongi Langi, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound defensive back prospect from Bingham High in South Jordan, Utah, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for BYU. Langi committed to BYU over the summer, and reaffirmed that choice today by signing his National Letter of Intent today.
Langi received a two-star rating from Rivals. While at Bingham he made solid contributions on defense as well as in the return game.
Langi will continue on the family tradition at BYU, as he is the younger brother of former BYU player Harvey Langi. Tongi mainly played safety while at Bingham High School, and will likely play at that position while at BYU.
Langi is planning on serving a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints before enrolling at BYU, so the soonest we’ll could be hearing Langi’s name on the field would be the 2019 season.
