Nick Emery led BYU with 26 points – including a perfect 5-5 from deep in the first half – to lead BYU to a 82-70 over San Diego.

Emery had been held to less than 4 points in 3 of the previous 4 games, but found his shooting touch to lead BYU to a double-digit win. BYU’s entire starting lineup scored in double figures, including another double double by Eric Mika (15 points and 10 rebounds). Elijah Bryant also tied his season high with 15 points.

BYU had yet another dismal scoring performance from its bench, as Davin Guinn provided the only 2 points; BYU had 1 bench point in its last outing versus San Francisco.

BYU’s 12-point win avenged a 13-point loss BYU had in January at San Diego. BYU moved to 19-9 on the year with 3 games remaining in the regular season.

BYU next faces 22 ranked St Mary’s in what will be the final regular season home game of the year for the Cougars. BYU fell to the Gaels by 13 points in early January. BYU look to continue its home success vs the Gaels, as BYU has won the past 3 outings in Provo.
