Former BYU safety Daniel Sorensen has signed a 4-year, $16 million deal with the Kansas City Chiefs. Sorensen was a restricted free agent.
Chiefs banged out (cc: @daringantt) an agreement with S Daniel Sorensen: 4 years for $16m, almost half guaranteed. Another $2m in incentives

Undrafted out of BYU, Sorensen had a career year in his third season with the Chiefs. He played in all 16 games, finishing with 63 tackles, 3 fumble recoveries, 2 forced fumbles, and 3 interceptions (including a pick 6 versus the New Orleans Saints). Sorensen’s seven takeaways put him second on one of the best defenses in the NFL. He was also a special teams force, much like during his college days with the Cougars.

Sorensen also had 6 tackles and a sack in that win over the Saints.
The Kansas City Chiefs’ head coach is of course former BYU offensive lineman Andy Reid.
