Cougs on Cougs: BYU Basketball’s Zac Seljaas is back and so is Tanner Mangum Modeling Co.

Catch Jess and Mary’s rapid fire question segment with BYU Football in St. George. Then it’s time for the last BYU Basketball Coaching from the Couch segment of the year + much more.

NCAA Football: Poinsettia Bowl-Brigham Young vs Wyoming Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

It’s week 61 of Cougs on Cougs and we start out with one of our favorite segments yet. The football team was in St. George last weekend and held an open practice and FanFest. Mary’s parents Jeff and Usha Tuscano live in St. George and managed to snag some amazing footage, asking players and coaches like Ty Detmer, Tanner Mangum, Jonah Trinnaman, the Warner bros., Reno Mahe, and more questions like who has the best hair or who is most like a superhero. There are definitely some money quotes, dancing, and more, that you don’t want to miss (definitely press play on the gif below).

After those rapid fire questions with BYU Football it’s time for our last BYU Basketball Coaching from the Couch segment of the 2016-17 season. Relieved is a word that comes to mind here. The Cougars had another lackluster showing against UT Arlington in the opening round of the NIT and lost to the Mavericks, 105-89. Coaches Tyler and Blanchard discuss where it all went wrong but also manage to come up with a couple of things that went right. Hope is not lost. Do not give up on this basketball team! As Yoeli Childs said to Greg Wrubell after the loss, “We’re gonna come back next year just shocking people.” Mark it down.

We wrap up the show with a jam-packed Talk of the Town. Football is first. We’ve got a couple of pictures from the team’s camping trip down in St. George. One national sports outlet is considering BYU a dark horse for the CFB Playoffs, Jim McMahon has an adorable new grandson, and some BYU fans have some pretty awesome stuff for sale.

On the basketball side of things, we start out with the positively joyous news that Elder Zac Seljaas has returned from his mission. No, it has not been two years (he was playing last season). Zac has returned from Iowa for shoulder surgery but we’re cautiously optimistic that he’ll heal up nicely and suit up for BYU Hoops next year. Get all the information we’ve got on his return here. Then we’ve got Jamal’s nickname for Steven Beo, an awesome gesture the wives of the BYU coaching staff made to the wives of the UTA coaching staff, praise for BYU fans from Mark Few during March Madness, and much more.

So happy to have my brother home!!! #ElderSeljaas

Oh, and we end on a very, very important picture of Tanner Mangum. Tanner Mangum Modeling Co. forever and ever, amen.
