It’s week 62 of Cougars on Cougars. Jess and Mary start out with spring game talk. BYU Football had their rain-infused spring scrimmage Saturday, and while the takeaways should be taken with a grain of salt here, there are things to take away. Jess and Mary share the ‘3 Things’ that stood out most to them: Tight end play (especially Matt Bushman), quarterbacks, and defense. Check out the episode to hear why, and comment below on what stood out to you. Vanquish the Foe’s recap of the spring game can be found, here. Spring ball wraps up this week. Only 151 days until Portland State...
Matt Bushman. Spring game. MVP.

Next, a huge change for BYU Basketball had to be discussed. Center Eric Mika has decided to declare for the NBA. He’s chosen to do so without an agent, meaning that if he withdrawals by May 24, he can return to BYU. But will he? Jess and Mary break down the good, the bad, and the ugly of this decision and its affect on BYU Hoops in a ‘2-Minute Drill.’ Jess takes the position of why Mika leaving BYU Basketball is bad, and touches on the obvious negative ramifications for the squad with his departure. Mary plays devil’s advocate and points out some potential silver linings. BYU’s best at guard play, anyway. Right? Then Jess and Mary give their takes on what they think Eric will actually do — stay, or go. What do you think of Mika’s decision? Where do you see him landing next year?
Mika: "I think I can show more potential (as an NBA 4) than people realize, and that's my hope. I think it will work out."

Finally, it’s time for Talk of the Town, which is pretty football heavy this week. It makes sense, considering both BYU Football’s Pro Day and spring game were last week. Jess and Mary make sure you’re caught up on all the social media highlights. What’s been toughest for Harvey Langi to give up diet-wise throughout his training? Hint: It’s #relatable. Plus, we’ve finally got some more insight into why Ilaisa Tuiaki and Steve Kaufusi switched coaching positions. And we’ve got a few things from the basketball mediasphere — including the sweetest newborn pic of Jimmer with his daughter Wesley.
Oh, and here’s that video of Mark Few jumping into Przemek Karnowski’s arms. Good luck to the Zags this weekend!
