Cougs on Cougs is back from a week off with episode 70. Jess is off for a birthday trip to London, so Mary’s husband Jordan Blanchard is filling in as co-host.
BYU Football is 41 days away from reporting to fall camp (July 24), and 75 days away from its first game (Aug. 26), so it’s time to get into some of the nitty gritty! Jess and Mary co-hosted Cougar Sports with Ben Criddle last week, and BYU’s defense was a main topic of discussion. Will it be top 10 like Phil Steele predicts? In our opinion, a lot of that depends on who fills the shoes of players like Kai Nacua.
QOTD: According to @philsteele042, @BYUfootball will have a top 10 defense. What do you expect from them next year?

Jordan (who coaches defensive backs at Mountain View High School) gives us a look into who might be capable of filling those big shoes, and what BYU might look like at DB this year. He is hopeful. Are you? What standouts are you looking forward to seeing? Jordan and Mary discuss players like Troy Warner, Dayan Lake, Micah Hannemann, Chaz Ah You, Tanner Jacobsen and more.

Next, it’s time for Talk of the Town, and there’s a lot in there after having a week off. Eric Mika had his 14th team work out ahead of the June 22 NBA Draft, and another former Cougar got a team workout, too. Jordan and Mary share a priceless picture of Dallin H. Oaks, give a few shoutouts to some Cougar fans for reppin’ the Y, take a look at former Cougar Kyle Van Noy’s new Super Bowl ring, check in on Taysom Hill, plus much more.
Ha! I knew that Elder @OaksDallinH was the President of @BYU, but didn't know he doubled as Cosmo! #GoCougs pic.twitter.com/H2KYHvjxka
