Cougs on Cougs: A look at BYU Basketball’s non-conference schedule

Jess and Mary discuss the recently released non-conference schedule for the 2017-18 BYU Basketball season.

NCAA Basketball: BYU vs Southern California Robert Hanashiro-USA TODAY Sports

Hello Cougar fans! Jess and Mary are back after a break to bring you all the news concerning BYU Football and Basketball. We’re less than a week away from the start of Fall Camp for BYU Football (finally, can you believe it?!), and BYU Basketball just released its 2017-18 non-conference schedule. We dive into that schedule and break down some of the more (and then less) exciting games. Are there enough quality opponents to give the Cougars a solid chance at a good RPI? We’ll have to see. Make sure you mark December 16, 2017 on your calendar—that’s when the Utah Utes will return to the Marriott Center for the first time in three years.

Talk of the Town is loaded this week, beginning with a very cool football camp for kids that former BYU Football star Ziggy Ansah put on in his home country of Ghana (send those kids our way, Ziggy)! Any guesses as to who Troy Warner thinks is the best linebacker in the country? And once again, best friends Tanner Mangum and Matt Hadley have blessed us with a selfie (or, is it a selfie)? We think they need a ship name. Manner? Tatt? Manley? We’ll have to settle this with a poll—keep an eye on our twitter.

"I gotchu, I gotchu."

The BYU Basketball team seems to be spending some quality time together, including on the 4th of July. It’s nice to see newcomer Rylan Bergersen and recently returned Zac Seljaas hanging out with Nick Emery and Yoeli Childs. Let’s hope their activities off the court translate into some quality team chemistry on it!

We’ll be back next Wednesday with a show all about BYU Football Fall Camp, which begins on Pioneer Day, July 24. Get excited people—only 38 days until kickoff!
