It’s week 74 of Cougars on Cougars and BYU Football kicks off in exactly one month! The team reports to camp Wednesday, and practices start Thursday, so it’s time for Jess and Mary to talk some football. They begin the show with a fall camp preview of sorts, along with some input from other Vanquish the Foe writers. What do they hope to see or hear come out of the next couple of weeks? There are a lot of question marks surrounding the offense, the main one being which playmakers will emerge around QB Tanner Mangum. Jess and Mary talk about which receivers, running backs, and tight ends might end up being Mangum’s favorite targets. They also talk about which position groups they see as strongest and which ones really need to prove themselves during fall camp. Tweet at Cougs on Cougs with one thing you hope comes out of camp. And don’t forget to read up on all of VTF’s position group previews so you head into fall camp an educated spectator.

Next it’s time for a relatively quiet Talk of the Town. Jess and Mary begin with a couple pieces of news about the Warner brothers — a number change for one of them, and some more well-deserved recognition for the other.

Then it’s time for a couple of pieces of signing news concerning former BYU hoopsters. Jimmer is headed back to China and Eric Mika is headed back to the land of his mission: Italy. Are you surprised by either of these signings? Disappointed? Jess and Mary share their thoughts — Mary is really looking forward to seeing Eric finally face off with Jonathan Tavernari. They’re in the same league now.

That’s all for this week. Happy fall camp to you, and see you next week — where there will be actual concrete football things to discuss. Woohoo!
