BYU football announced Friday morning that they have solidified a home and home series in 2026 and 2030. The first game will be in Blacksburg and the second will be in Provo.
VIrginia Tech currently plays in the ACC under second year head coach Justin Fuente. Given the age and newness of both Sitake and Fuente, it is plausible that both will be the head coach in 2026.

BYU's athletic director Tom Holmoe had this to say about the series:
“Virginia Tech has consistently been one of the best teams in college football for a very long time. They are always in the running for the top spot in the ACC because of their high level of talent and great coaching. We are pleased to be able to schedule this series."
Both schools have been playing football since the 1800's but they have never met in football. Assuming there is no bowl matchup within the next 9 years, 2026 will be the first.
Current 5 year olds will be playing in the 2030 game. Unfortunately, Taysom and Emily Hill's son is younger than 5 right now.
