During Friday morning’s fall camp media session, BYU Football Coach Kalani Sitake announced the team’s four captains: Tejan Koroma and Tanner Mangum on the offensive side of the ball and Butch Pau’u and Fred Warner on the defensive. Sitake told media that captains were selected by the team.

The captain crew consists of two juniors in QB Mangum and LB Pau’u, and two seniors in LB Warner and C Koroma. Last year, it was made up of all seniors (Taysom Hill, Kai Nacua, Harvey Langi, and Jamaal Williams).
The ladies of Cougs on Cougs (along with probably the rest of Cougar Nation) were nearly positive Mangum and Warner would be selected as captains, but weren’t quite sure on the other two. While Pau’u and Koroma would not have been bad guesses and will surely do a great job, there was a lot of upperclassmen leadership to choose from.
“We're going to do our best to lead by example; I'm excited for the opportunity," Tanner Mangum said about being named captain. Mangum, Pau’u, and Warner all spoke to the media Friday morning. Check out the BYUtv Sports Facebook page to hear those interviews in full.
