31 years after he won the Super Bowl in the Louisiana Superdome, Jim McMahon will be returning to New Orleans to be an honorary captain for BYU when they face off versus LSU. McMahon tweeted out the news on his personal twitter account:
Excited 2 join the Cougars this weekend 4 @BYUfootball @LSUfootball game in New Orleans. #BYU #BYUFootball pic.twitter.com/Wx5qVCr2dO

After years of a somewhat rocky relationship between McMahon and BYU, it is great to see Jim back in good graces with BYU. McMahon had his number retired in October 2015, and has said positive things about BYU over the years.
McMahon tweeted out this photo a couple weeks ago prior to BYU’s game versus Portland State:

Great to see one of the all-time greats involved with BYU football again. Here’s to hoping McMahon’s magic rubs off on BYU when they take the field versus the Tigers!
