Despite a stellar preseason, the Green Bay Packers have parted ways with Taysom Hill. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news:
The #Packers are going with two QBs on the active roster: They are waiving QB Taysom Hill, but hope to have him back on the practice squad.

Hill finished the preseason with two passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown, including zero turnovers.
The Packers also cut Joe Callahan, who was battling with Hill for the third string QB spot. The Packers will go forward without Taysom on the 53-man roster, but will likely try to add him to the practice squad if he clears waivers.
The other 31 teams in the NFL will first have the opportunity to add Hill to their 53-man roster before the Packers could add him to the practice squad.
With Hill’s playmaking ability and experience in Ty Detmer’s pro-style offense, another team may pick up Taysom and add him to their active roster.
