BYU Head Coach Kalani Sitake held his weekly press conference Monday morning, discussing a variety of topics.
One of the highlights (6:45 mark) was Sitake discussing QB Tanner Mangum’s ankle injury. Kalani said that Tanner was “not on a scooter anymore... he’s improving, but it’s still early to make a definitive decision on this weekend.”
BYU’s depth chart listed Tanner Mangum “OR” Beau Hoge as the starter, further indicating that Beau Hoge may get his second career start Friday against Utah State.
Mangum injured his ankle on the last play of the Utah game; the Utah State game would be 20 days following the injury.
Linebacker and team captain Fred Warner also talked about a players’ only meeting the team held the Monday following the Wisconsin loss. Warner organized the meeting and talked about the emotion he and other players had during the meeting. His comments can be listened to below.
