Cougs on Cougs: Why you should go see BYU Football take on USU in Logan

Jess and Mary have Logan native Ryan Petersen on to discuss the best things to do and eat for those traveling to BYU/USU Friday.

Wasn’t that bye week nice? But now Jess and Mary are renewed and ready to get back to football after a week off. Let’s go! Utah State is up next for BYU Football on Friday, at Maverik Stadium. Episode 83 of Cougars on Cougars kicks off with an ‘Along the Trail to Fame and Glory’ segment about Ogden.... Wait, we mean Logan, Utah. What is there to do up there? It’s Ryan Petersen’s (@TrueAggieFan) hometown and he’s on to help.

Ryan shares a few suggestions of family-friendly things to do as well as places to eat. He says there should be some nice fall colors on the Wind Cave hike up Logan Canyon, and recommends grabbing some Aggie ice cream from the campus creamery.

So far the best #utah #aggies #icecream #thebest

He also says that the best Indian food he’s ever had can be found at a restaurant in a gas station (yes, in a gas station) near campus — Tandoori Oven. Watch the episode to hear all of Ryan’s suggestions, and be sure to tweet us if you check any of them out! Oh, and be sure to mention Ryan’s name if you grab a sandwich at Logan’s Heroes and see Hamid.

Then it’s time for a ‘Tweets from Last Night’ segment, looking back on BYU’s historic announcement that caffeine will be served on campus. It’s something Jess and Mary have talked about before, but didn’t think would happen for awhile. Well, as BYU said, “It’s happening.”

The ladies share a few of their favorite tweets from after the news broke, including some of the national attention it got, and some funny experiences from close friends as well. One BYU law student tried caffeine for the first time because BYU started serving it! Watch the episode to see how that went for her.

Finally, it’s time for Talk of the Town, a roundup of some notable news around the BYU social mediasphere. In basketball news, BYU Hoops is almost back! Practices start Friday and the expected date of Media Day is October 5. Also, Dalton Nixon and Yoeli Childs are together on the BYU Sports Nation Set, Coach Rose and LaComb are together in Jimmer’s hometown, and Eric Mika and Tyler Haws are together in Italy.

Then there’s some new apparel to discuss, and an adorable baby repping Boney Fuller, plus some updates on former BYU Football players in the NFL, including Jordan Leslie, who Jess and Mary couldn’t be happier for.

The ladies will be back with Coaching from the Couch and more next week. BYU will take on USU Friday at 6 p.m. on CBSSN (Thanks for that, Mountain West). Don’t forget to tag @cougsoncougs in pics if you try out any of Ryan’s suggestions! Go Cougs.
