BYU will get its second chance of the season against Saint Mary’s in Moraga Thursday evening on ESPN2. This time, the Gaels are ranked no. 16. Needless to say, this is a huge opportunity for the Cougars to get a very nice resume win, and perhaps get back into the NCAA bubble conversation. It’s also a chance for the Cougs to get some revenge for that OT loss in Provo.
Saint Mary’s comes into the game on a 14-game winning streak while the Cougs are on a four game one. The Gaels are the lone undefeated team in the WCC (8-0), after their victories over Gonzaga and Pacific last week. They’re 19-2 on the season while BYU sits at 17-4.
BYU's Thursday game at Saint Mary's will be part of the Gaels' "Australia Day" celebration. Under HC Randy Bennett, 18 Australians have suited up for SMC.

BYU's lone win at McKeon Pavilion came during a celebration of Aussie Matthew Dellavedova's jersey retirement on 2/15/2014.
The Cougars’ last and only win at McKeon Pavilion came almost four years ago, on Feb. 15, 2014. Is this Cougars squad capable of taking down a rock solid team of Gaels? ESPN’s FPI gives BYU a 17 percent chance.
