After falling in an OT loss to Saint Mary’s, BYU clamped down on the defensive end late for a 69-59 win over San Francisco.
San Francisco took its first lead over BYU with under 10 minutes remaining, but a 16-4 run by BYU to end the game put the Dons away.
Foul troubled plagued Yoeli Childs early, but a strong finish gave him 13 points and 8 rebounds on the night. Elijah Bryant was the leading scorer for BYU, as he finished with 17 points, 7 boards,and a handful of timely shots.
Another bright spot was Jahshire Hardnett, who had one of his best games in a Cougar uniform. Hardnett finished with 11 points, and shot a perfect 4-4 from the field to go along with 0 turnovers.
BYU now moves to 13-3 on the year with the road victory over a top 150 team.
The Cougars’ next game is Saturday night at Pacific.
