Welcome to Episode 96 of Cougs on Cougs! Unfortunately, we’re feeling a bit of deja vu as the BYU Basketball team dropped a close one on the road to one of the lower-tier WCC schools. But all it not lost! One of our favorite things about basketball season is that there’s always a chance to make the Big Dance, even in March. Don’t lose hope! As the late Yogi Berra said, “It ain’t over till it’s over.”
2 Saturdays in a row BYU has had a chance to win on the last possession and couldn’t capitalize

Perhaps lost in the darkness of the last-second, 67-66 loss to Pacific is that the BYU Cougars did win a good road game at San Francisco, 69-59. There’s always a “what went right” to accompany the “what went wrong”, and that’s particularly true in a split week. Do the Cougars have a problem closing out close games? The BYU defense is still traveling to road games, but is the defense enough? Which player surprisingly has the same amount of three pointers in the last three games as TJ Haws, McKay Cannon, and Zac Seljaas combined? Jess and Mary discuss all of this and more in Coaching from the Couch.

Talk of the Town begins with a shout out to BYU Football tight end Matt Bushman who made the Freshman All-American team. Matt was definitely a bright spot in our dreary football season. Did you see Kyle Collinsworth’s rookie backpack? If you haven’t, well, what can we say except “you’re welcome”? And our favorite BYU Basketball co-captain Elijah Bryant is back at the meme game with a new one, this time starring fellow captain Luke Worthington! By the way, if you voted no in the hair poll about Elijah, you’re wrong.
POLL: You like Elijah Bryant's hair?

A special shoutout goes to Melissa Keck for sending in this photo of her celebrating her 60th birthday with her nine grandchildren! She is definitely Raising them Right.

One of the best things to come out of this basketball season are the puns using Yoeli Childs’ name! In a short Cougs and Culture segment, Jess and Mary share some of their favorite puns from Twitter. We’ll be looking for more throughout the season, so keep them coming!
More Yoeliness give me.
