***UPDATE*** Coach Sitake announced that Corbin will start tonight and then have surgery and miss the bowl game. Sitake also said that Squally Canada, Lopini Canada and Gunner Romney will all be out. Look for Riley Burt and Matt Hadley to be the two main running backs.
Kalani Sitake tells me DE Corbin Kaufusi has put off season-ending surgery for a week, will start tonight v. Utah, and have tonight’s game be his final game as a Cougar. Kalani says RBs Lopini Katoa and Squally Canada are injured and will not play tonight.

After Kalani Sitake announced last week that Senior DE Corbin Kaufusi will be out for the remainder of the year with a foot/ankle injury, it appears that Corbin may give it a go in the Holy War. Here is an Instagram Post from Corbin with the caption, “Till the wheels fall off”
Corbin is also listed as the co-starter at DE on Utah’s official gameday notes after not being on BYU’s depth chart earlier in the week.

Additionally, Jake Hatch of 1280 Sports reported that Corbin has practiced with the team this week.
If people listened to @LockedOnCougars you would have known Wednesday that Corbin Kaufusi was going to try and play in tonight's game. He's been practicing all week with the goal of playing and was trending towards being available to play. Just sayin' #BYUvsUTAH #BYUfootball

With all that in mind, it looks like Corbin will give it a go as BYU tries to snap a 7-game losing streak to Utah. Coaches likely left it up to Corbin about whether or not he will play tonight.
BYU players REALLY want to win this game, apparently. Let’s hope our boys can snap the seven game winning streak tonight.
We’ll update this story as more info becomes official.
