It was a dark week for BYU sports — and basketball was no exception.

After a blowout win over Rice and an ugly loss to Houston, BYU will look to rebound on the road versus two solid mid-major teams.

In the fourth episode of our brand new, all-hoops podcast, Shut Up and Jimmer, Vanquish The Foe’s own Steve Pierce and Robby McCombs discuss what went well in the Rice win (a lot!) and what went wrong in the Houston loss (also a lot!). Is lack of talent the real problem with this team or was the Houston game just one bad outing? Who will be those third and fourth scorers that step up to complement TJ Haws and Yoeli Childs? And just how worried should Cougar fans be after Saturday’s debacle?

We also look ahead to this week’s road matchups versus two of the best mid-major players in the country. Will BYU be able to matchup and contain Illinois State’s Milik Yarbrough and Weber State’s Jerrick Harding? Find out by listening using the player embedded below!

Shut Up and Jimmer is available on all major podcast platforms — including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts and Stitcher. We’ll release new episodes weekly on Mondays throughout the season, where we’ll break down the latest action from the boys in blue, look ahead to future matchups and maybe even talk a little recruiting.
