NCAA Basketball: West Coast Conference Tournament-Saint Mary’s vs BYU Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Don’t look now, folks, but BYU basketball is fun again!

After the Cougars bounced back with two in-state wins this past week, Vanquish The Foe’s own Steve Pierce and Robby McCombs break down the big victories over the Aggies and Utes in the sixth episode of our brand new, all-hoops podcast, Shut Up and Jimmer. You can listen using the player embedded below.

With two rivalry wins now in the rearview mirror, can BYU keep up this improved play as we wind down the non-conference season? Just how good of a season is Yoeli Childs having—not only on a national level, but on an all-time level in BYU basketball history?

However, not all is perfect in the BYU world. Tune in as we discuss which player coaches need to tread carefully with in order to avoid another Payton Dastrup situation.

We also look ahead to matchups this week versus Portland State (a potential preview of BYU’s future head coach?) and a Vegas trip to old MWC foe UNLV. Can BYU keep the momentum going and pick up a pair of wins?

Shut Up and Jimmer is available on all major podcast platforms — including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts and Stitcher. We’ll release new episodes weekly on Mondays throughout the season, where we’ll break down the latest action from the boys in blue, look ahead to future matchups and maybe even talk a little recruiting.
