Wednesday evening marks BYU’s last home game of the month. The Cougars will play the Vikings of Portland State at the Marriott Center at 7 p.m. MST. They won’t play in Provo again until Jan. 10.
Portland State hails from the Big Sky Conference, with the likes of BYU’s in-state foe, Weber State (who the Cougars lost to a couple of weeks ago). The Vikings are 5-3 overall, and have won their last two in the row. Their most recent win came against the WCC’s own Portland Pilots. The Vikings won, 87-78.
BYU is 7-4 on the season and snapped a three-game losing streak in a big way last week against in-state rivals Utah State, and then Utah on Saturday. Yoeli Childs scored 31 points in both of those games (and in the Weber State game before that, making three 31-point games in a row for him).
