BYU added some beef to its offensive front as offensive lineman Elijah Unutoa signed with BYU.
The 6-foot-5, 300 pounds lineman from Kapa’a, Hawaii committed to BYU back in October over other scholarship offers from Cal, Iowa State, Colorado State, Fresno State, San Diego State and Hawaii.
Primarily a guard, Unutoa already has the size of a Division 1 offensive lineman. He is a big, strong blocker that consistently gets to the second level and punishes opponents in the running game; run blocking is his where he excels, but he also moves his feet well for an interior lineman in the passing game. We are unaware if Unutoa has mission plans at this time.
Although a 3-star prospect, Unutoa has gone a bit under-the-radar due to the fact that he doesn’t have social media accounts and plays on the island of Kauai. With his size and ability to pass and run block, Unutoa could easily turn into a multi-year starter in the interior of the offensive line during his BYU career.
BYU fans can get their first of glimpse of Unutoa January 19th at the Polynesian Bowl on CBS Sports Network.
