We know the bowl destination, and now we know the Vegas spread for the game.

After getting paired versus Western Michigan in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, Vegas released its initial line for the game and opened BYU as a 12.5-point favorite over the Broncos; the line jumped up to 14 less than an hour after releasing.

BYU has been a double digit favorite in four games this season — McNeese State, Hawaii, UMass and New Mexico State — and BYU has covered the spread in each of those four games.

Western Michigan is coming into the game on a bit of a slide. After starting the season 0-2, the Broncos ripped off six straight wins until their starting QB went down with a injury. WMU went on to lose three straight, but ended the season with a home win over MAC champion Northern Illinois.

WMU will come into the game confident knowing they beat a team that BYU lost to, and will surely be fired up to play a team like BYU that is a bigger brand than any team in the MAC. Bowl games often come down to motivation, so BYU will need to come out not underestimating the Broncos if they want to avoid the upset.

BYU and Western Michigan play Friday, December 21 at 4:00 EST on ESPN.
