We already knew that BYU would be playing Utah, USC and Washington in 2019, and now we know what those teams will be dealing with before and after traveling to Provo.
The Pac 12 released its entire 2019 schedule Tuesday morning, which finalizes the dates that BYU will have with the Pac 12 opponents.
Here’s a breakdown of what each BYU Pac 12 opponent will be dealing with before and after their game in Provo.
Utah
When: Thursday, August 29
Where: Lavell Edwards Stadium
Utah’s game before BYU: None
Utah’s game after BYU: vs Northern Illinois
BYU-Utah will open the 2019 season with a Thursday night showdown. Look for this game to get a primetime slot on one of the ESPN networks.
USC
When: Saturday, September 14
Where: Lavell Edwards Stadium
USC’s game before: vs Stanford
USC’s game after: vs Utah
BYU will be the third game for USC’s new offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury, who brings his air raid attack from Texas Tech to LA. BYU will be sandwiched between two Pac 12 home games for USC, so the Cougars could catch the Trojans with their guard down a bit.
Washington
When: Saturday, September 21
Where: Lavell Edwards Stadium
UW game before: vs Hawaii
UW game after: vs USC
After getting blown out by four touchdowns in Seattle this season, BYU welcomes the huskies into Provo for the first time since 2010. Washington will be coming off a game versus Hawaii’s high-flying passing offense before looking ahead to a big showdown versus Stanford after their trip to Provo.
In addition to these three Pac 12 games in the first four weeks of the season, BYU will travel to Knoxville to face the Tennessee Volunteers in week two. No doubt a challenging start to the schedule, but BYU will also have the opportunity to make statement early in the college football season.
