BYU signed one of the top linebackers in the state of Utah today, with the signing of 3-star LB Viliami Tausinga.
The 3-star linebacker was sought after by a handful of P5 programs, and had offers from Minnesota, Oregon State, Boise State, Fresno State, Utah State, Hawaii, San Diego State and UNLV.
The 6-1, 210 pound inside linebacker is the cousin of recently graduated BYU DT Kesni Tausinga. Viliami is a hard-hitting linebacker who shows great instincts and ability to stop the run. He played predominately Inside linebacker during his time at East High, and will likely be a middle linebacker at BYU.
Viliami told Mitch Harper at CougarNation.com that he is still considering whether or not to go on a LDS mission, meaning he may compete right away in 2018.
