It’s been a long journey for Finau to get to BYU, who officially announced Wednesday that he has signed with BYU. After signing with Utah back in the 2014 class back when Tuiaki and Sitake were on Utah’s staff, a LDS mission and a stint at Salt Lake Community College delayed his college career.
Four years later, the former 3-star athlete will join his younger brother Sione at BYU, who was a member of BYU’s 2016 recruiting class. Utah re-offered Amone a scholarship this past summer and has been recruiting him, but Amone ultimately decided to go to Provo.
Amone committed to Utah as a running back, but could play multiple positions on either side of the ball. BYU officially lists him as a running back, so it looks like he will start there.
