Provo, Utah — After a rough week which saw BYU drop road games to LMU and Gonzaga, BYU cruised to an easy 80-58 over Santa Clara.
The Broncos challenged BYU in the first 10 minutes, but balanced scoring and a good defensive effort helped BYU gain control of the game shortly after.
Yoeli Childs led all players with 20 points and 10 rebounds, and TJ Haws and Elijah Bryant chipped in 14 points apiece.
Dalton Nixon was a bright spot off the bench, as he finished with a career high 12 points on 5-6 shooting. Nixon has been easing his way back from a foot injury.
BYU shot 57% from the floor (40% from 3) and held the Broncos to 40% shooting (31% from 3).
BYU next takes on San Francisco Saturday afternoon in the Marriott Center.
