One of the top QB’s in the country is heading to Provo, as 2019 4-Star QB Jacob Conover committed to BYU. Conover announced the commitment via his twitter account.

Conover had BYU and hometown Arizona State in his final two, and also had offers from Alabama, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Arizona, Washington State, among many other schools.
Conover said that he is “100 percent” going on a LDS mission before he enrolls in school, so we won’t be seeing him on the field until 2021. It’s hard to predict who will be the starting QB when Conover returns home, but promising QB’s Zach Wilson and Jaren Hall will either be seniors or redshirt juniors when Conover returns home. If one of those quarterbacks pan out, it could make for a nice transition to Conover.
Conover is considered one of the top pro-style QB’s in the country, as 247 Sports, ESPN and Rivals all him in among the top 10 pro-style quarterbacks in the 2019 class. Each recruiting service also has him as a 4-star QB.
Jacob has led Chandler High School (Arizona) to back-to-back state titles, and was teammates with 2018 WR signee Gunner Romney.
He threw for over 3,000 yards and over 30 touchdowns in both of his sophomore and junior years, and only threw two picks during the entire 2017 season.
Great commit for Kalani Sitake and the rest of the staff, as Conover will be one of the best recruits BYU picks up in the 2019 class.
