Squally Canada has been named a 2018 Doak Walker Award candidate, which is annually given to the nation’s top running back.
The senior running back is coming off a season in which he led BYU with 710 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns on 120 rushing attempts, good for 5.92 yards per carry. Squally’s best game of the year came in BYU’s November 10th win at UNLV, where he rushed for a career high 213 yards on 25 carries.
He also ended the season on a high note at Hawaii, when he rushed for 113 yards and a career high two touchdowns.
Squally enters his final year at BYU with 1,026 career rushing yards and 8 touchdowns. He is expected to lead BYU’s ground attack heading into the 2018 season.
