BYU TE Matt Bushman Named to John Mackey Award Watch List

No surprise here

NCAA Football: Brigham Young at Fresno State Kiel Maddox-USA TODAY Sports

In the least surprising development for BYU during watch list season, Tight End Matt Bushman was named to the 2018 John Mackey Award Preseason Watch List. The Mackey award is annually given to the top tight end in the nation.

Bushman was one of the few bright spots for BYU during a down 2017 season, as the freshman all-american finished the season with 49 receptions for 520 yards and 3 touchdowns. All three categories led BYU. His receptions and yards were 5th and 6th, respectively, for all tight ends in the nation.

Bushman will once again be a focal point of the BYU passing attack, as the sophomore is considered one of the best tight ends in the country.

Congrats to Matt for being recognized as one of the nation’s best!
