After spending a portion of last season on the Green Bay Packers practice squad, the Atlanta Falcons have signed former BYU WR Colby Pearson.

The Packers released Pearson in early June after Pearson had missed some offseason workouts and practices with a hamstring injury.

In 43 career games for the Cougars, Pearson caught 76 passes for 864 yards and 8 touchdowns. His best year came as a senior in 2016, when he caught 38 passes for 384 yards and 4 touchdowns.

The Falcons began training camp last week and play their first preseason game August 10 at the New York Jets.

Pearson’s odds of making the roster appear slim, as he is one of 13 wide receivers on the Falcons 90-man roster, but he’ll get a shot to prove himself during training camp and the preseason. NFL teams have a 53-man roster during the regular season and a 10-man practice squad.

Best of luck to Colby with the Atlanta Falcons!
