After reports surfaced back in April of a possible series between the old MWC/WAC foes, a new report has come out of a future series between BYU and Wyoming.
Robert Gagliardi of Wyosports.net is reporting that BYU and Wyoming will play a home-and-home series in 2022 and 2024. According to the report, Wyoming will come to Provo in 2022 and the Cougars will travel to Laramie in 2024.
Assuming the report is accurate, here is how BYU’s schedule shapes up for the 2022 season:
- 09/03 - at Utah
- 09/10 - Baylor
- 09/17 - at Oregon
- 09/30 - Utah State
- 10/08 - at Boise State
- 10/22 - at Liberty
- 11/19 - East Carolina
- 11/26 - at Stanford
- TBA: vs Wyoming
Here is what we know of the 2024 slate:
- 09/14 - Hawaii
- 10/12 - Georgia Southern
- 10/19 - at East Carolina
- 11/02 - at UNLV
- 11/09 - at NC State
- TBA: at Wyoming
BYU and Wyoming last met in the Poinsettia Bowl in 2016, with BYU pulling out a 24-21 victory in the rain.
If you want to look ahead to the 2022 game, QB’s Jaren Hall and Zach Wilson would be fifth-year seniors if they redshirt and are still with the program then.
