Hello Cougar Nation, I’m excited to give you some insight into BYU’s offensive line play from Saturday’s game versus Cal. Here is a little bit of my background from my football career:
SUU: Redshirt 2010, played from 2013-2015; Big Sky Honorable mention in 2015
BYU: Came to BYU as a graduate transfer and started at LT all 13 games in 2016
NFL: Participated in rookie minicamps for the San Francisco 49ers and Indianapolis Colts
BYU’s offense had its struggles during Saturday’s loss to Cal, but they also had their moments when the offensive line gave Tanner time and opened up holes in the run game. Here are some key plays from the game with my commentary of what I see going on.
Run Play; Austin Hoyt blocks two guys
Run Play; Tristen Hoge pancakes defender
Play Action Pass after two run plays (Collie drop play)
