Taysom Hill may be the Saints third-string QB, but that isn’t stopped coaches from getting Taysom on the field. Taysom made an impact at QB, wide receiver, tight end, kick returner and special teams in his best day yet of his young NFL career. The Saints beat the Falcons in OT, 43-37.

Offense

Taysom had three carries for 39 yards, including this 35-yard scamper where he was breaking tackles and out-running defenders.

HOW BEAUTIFUL WAS THAT?! Brings back lots of memories (and bad ones for Texas fans).

He also had a big third down run late in the fourth quarter that he converted for a first down on the Saints game-tying TD drive.

Taysom got some run at wide receiver too, and made his presence felt with this punishing block that set up the Saints first TD of the game.

Taysom also made this big block at tight end where he pushed back a Falcons player.

Special Teams

In addition to lining up on offense, Taysom is the Saints primary kick returner. Yes, a QB is a NFL team’s primary returner. Taysom responded with three kickoffs for 64 yards.

His longest return was 23 yards, but he returned this kick for 47 yards last week versus the Browns. Maybe we’ll see him break one for a TD this season?

He was also in kick coverage once again and finished with one tackle. The Saints and their fans took notice.

Saints coach Sean Payton praised Taysom and said the team will continue to look for ways to get Taysom on the field.
