It’s been a good, long while since the BYU Cougars have played on their home court — Dec. 12 to be exact, and times were different. BYU was 8-4 and there was no question as to whether or not Jahshire Hardnett was on the team. BYU is now 9-8, having only won one game since that last home match vs. Portland State, and a lot more is up in the air. The Portland Pilots are in town, as WCC play is underway, to face the Cougars on Thursday evening.
The Portland Pilots are 7-9 overall and have only played one WCC game so far. It was against LMU, and Portland lost, 76-64. Both BYU and Portland have won just one of their last five games. Portland’s last win came on Dec. 21 against Florida A&M (54-39 was the score).
BYU’s last win came more recently, last week against the Pacific Tigers. The Cougars went on to lose 88-66 to Saint Mary’s in Moraga Saturday, putting BYU at 1-1 in WCC play.
