Another week, another embarrassing loss for BYU.

The Cougars led 16-7 at halftime, but terrible run defense, poor red zone execution and injuries derailed BYU in a 27-23 loss to USF.

USF ran for 243 yards, abandoning the pass in the second half, and BYU couldn’t do anything to slow down the Bulls rushing attack.

Jaren Hall filled in admirably for Zach Wilson, passing for 148 yards and rushing for 83 yards, but a injury forced him out of action late in the fourth quarter. Baylor Romney came in and passed for 73 yards, but BYU got stopped in the red zone on both of his drives.

BYU is now 2-4 on the the season and welcomes #14 Boise State to Provo next week. After a 2-1 start, bowl eligibility is now in serious jeopardy.
