BYU is of course coming off a big upset win over #14 Boise State as they head into a bye week. The Aggies are 4-2 on year and have a tough matchup this upcoming Saturday versus Air Force.
Teams coming off a bye typically have an advantage, but BYU hasn’t fared well coming off byes in the Sitake era. BYU had a bye before USF, but ultimately lost 27-23 to the Bulls.
BYU has lost two straight to the Aggies and haven’t lost three-in-a-row since the 1970s. The Aggies aren’t quite as potent on offense this season as last, but they still have Jordan Love at QB and average 32.7 ppg.
One story line to watch is who BYU will turn to at QB. Jaren Hall should be cleared to play and played well at USF, but Baylor Romney is coming off the big win versus the Broncos.
After Utah State, BYU’s schedule eases up significantly for three games before closing out the season at 6-1 San Diego State.
