Former BYU basketball head coach suffered what doctors described as a major as a “major” and “severe” heart attack of Tuesday, according to his wife Cheryl. Cheryl posted the following Instagram post:
Former @BYUbasketball Head Coach Dave Rose suffered a major heart attack on Tuesday morning. Some extraordinary doctors & prayer helped him get through it. An update below was posted by his wife Cheryl.— Spencer Linton (@Spencer_Linton) October 24, 2019

Rose is in recovery mode and was seen in good spirits, according to his former assistant Tim Lacomb:
Saw Coach Rose today and he looks awesome. He is one tough dude! https://t.co/Q3X2YGV3Ch— Tim LaComb (@tlacomb) October 24, 2019
One thing for sure is that Dave Rose is a fighter. Rose overcame pancreatic cancer during his time as BYU head coach, and is already overcoming this setback.
Rose retired from coaching in March.
Praying for a full recovery for Coach Rose!
