Former BYU basketball head coach suffered what doctors described as a major as a “major” and “severe” heart attack of Tuesday, according to his wife Cheryl. Cheryl posted the following Instagram post:
Former @BYUbasketball Head Coach Dave Rose suffered a major heart attack on Tuesday morning. Some extraordinary doctors & prayer helped him get through it. An update below was posted by his wife Cheryl.

Rose is in recovery mode and was seen in good spirits, according to his former assistant Tim Lacomb:

One thing for sure is that Dave Rose is a fighter. Rose overcame pancreatic cancer during his time as BYU head coach, and is already overcoming this setback.
Rose retired from coaching in March.
