It’s about to be that amazing time of year, where football and basketball overlap. BYU Basketball won’t officially start its season until next week, but Friday, they’ll host UT Tyler for an exhibition game.
UT Tyler is a Division II team from Tyler, Texas. The Patriots also faced the Utah Utes on their road trip out here (Wed.) and lost, 88-47. They were just 8-17 last season.
BYU Basketball went 19-13 last year in what ended up being a pretty disappointing season, with no postseason appearance. Of course, many changes have come to the Cougar squad since last year, including an entirely new coaching staff, some transfers (to and from), some waivers granted (okay, well just one in Alex Barcello), some suspensions, etc. It will be good to get a first look at the team. Who are you most excited to see back in action? What are you most nervous about ahead of this new season?
