BYU Football 32.5-point favorite over Idaho State

BYU will a huge favorite when they welcome the 3-7 Idaho State Bengals to Provo Saturday afternoon. Vegas released its FBS-FCS lines Friday afternoon and opened with BYU as a 32.5-point favorite over Idaho State.

The Bengals are currently in the midst of a 4-game losing streak and have given up at least 45 points in three of the four losses.

BYU should be in no danger of losing the game, but the big story line to watch will be the QB situation. Zach Wilson and Baylor Romney have each taken reps this week, but the expectation is that Wilson will be the starting QB. Saturday will mark seven weeks from when Zach broke his thumb at Toledo. Coaches have hinted that Zach will be the starter, and Zach’s mom said on Instagram that he will start Saturday.

Zach’s injury was obviously unfortunate, but one benefit was that it gave him a chance to rest his surgically repaired right shoulder. Zach had surgery on his shoulder in January and likely wasn’t 100% fully back in August. With over a month to rest that shoulder, he should regain more zip on his passes. He addressed that same point with the media this past week, saying his arm strength his better now that it was seven weeks ago.

BYU-Idaho State will kickoff Saturday at 1pm MST on BYUtv.
