BYU came out ice cold from the field and could never fully recover as they lost 72-68 in overtime to Boise State.
BYU shot better in the second half, but still shot 38% from the field and 29% from three for the game. TJ Haws’ shooting woes continued, as the senior went 0-8 from three-point range. Jake Toolson led the way for BYU with 19 points on 7-20 shooting.
BYU had a chance to win in regulation, but a fadeaway Jake Toolson jumper was off and a tip at the basket didn’t fall.
6-foot-9 Boise State guard Derrick Alston gave BYU troubles all night, as he finished with 26 points and 11 rebounds.
BYU next travels to the islands for the Maul Invitational where they’ll face UCLA Monday night.
