After two wins in a row as an underdog, BYU will host Liberty Saturday as a big favorite.
Vegas released lines for the upcoming week and opened with BYU as a 20.5-point favorite over Liberty. BYU is 0-2 this season as a favorite, with losses to Toledo and USF.
The Flames are 6-3 on the year, but have played the 143rd ranked schedule thus far, according to Sagarin rankings. There are 130 FBS teams, so Liberty has played a weaker schedule than a handful of FCS teams. BYU, meanwhile, has played the 12th ranked schedule.
Liberty’s offense is based on passing the ball. Their QB Stephen Calvert has thrown for 2,638 yards, 20 TDs and 3 picks; WR Antonio Gandy-Golden is second nationally with 1,082 receiving yards to go along with 54 receptions and 7 touchdowns.
BYU and Liberty play Saturday evening at 5:30 MST on ESPNU in Provo.
