BYU comfortably beats Montana Tech

Yoeli returns Wednesday to face Utah as 9-game suspension is complete.

BYU finished Yoeli Childs 9-game suspension with a easy and comfortable win over Montana Tech Saturday afternoon, 98-64 the final score.

Sharp shooting helped the Cougars build a large lead early in the first half. BYU shot 74 percent from the field and 56 percent from three. BYU had three players in double-figures in the first half — Jake Toolson had 12 while TJ Haws and Kolby Lee each had 11. BYU led 51-35 at the half.

BYU extended its lead throughout the second half, leading by as much as 35. Toolson finished with a game-high 17, while Haws added 15, Seljaas added 14, and Lee added 11.

BYU shot an impressive 52 percent from three on 12-23, while Haws had a perfect day from three, hitting all four of his three-point attempts. BYU closed out the game with Knell, Nield, Pearson, Troy, and Maughan all getting minutes.

Yoeli Childs is now freed from NCAA prison, and BYU, now 6-3, travels to play Utah at the Huntsman Center Wednesday night at 6 p.m. MST. BYU has won the last two against the Utes, who come into the game 5-2 on the season.
