After pounding on two teams from the state of Nevada, BYU is set to take on an in-state foe (and a third consecutive Mountain West opponent) Saturday in Salt Lake City. The Cougars will play the Aggies of Utah State in the third (and final) year of the Beehive Classic.
This is one of the last best remaining games on BYU’s schedule — According to KenPom, it’s one of only four ‘Tier A’ games left for the Cougs. The other three are against Gonzaga (two) and Saint Mary’s (one).
BYU currently has four KenPom Tier A games remaining on its regular season schedule: home and away v. Gonzaga, at Saint Mary's, and this Saturday's neutral-floor meeting with USU.

Utah State, who was in the AP Top 25 until a couple of weeks ago, is 10-1 on the season. That lone loss came at a familiar opponent for BYU — Saint Mary’s. Utah State lost to the Gaels, 81-73 on Nov. 29. The Aggies last played on Dec. 10 against the St. Katherine Firebirds and demolished them, 94-49.
BYU also won big in their last game, 75-42 over the Nevada Wolf Pack, in a game many thought would be much closer (but never was). The Cougars are 8-4 overall headed into the matchup with the Aggies. ESPN’s Matchup Predictor gives each team a dead-even chance of winning.
