BYU Football Recruiting: Cougars sign 3-Star WR Kody Epps

Great pickup for BYU!

BYU got its first “surprise” of the day as 3-Star Mater Dei HS (California) WR Kody Epps officially signed with BYU.

The 5-foot-10 Epps tore it up at one of the premier high schools not only in California, but in the entire country. As a senior this season, Epps caught 93 passes for 1,735 yards and 28 touchdowns (that’s not a typo). Epps also held an offer from Oregon and a handful of MWC schools and was getting interest from other Pac 12 schools. Epps is a guy that not only can contribute right away, but no doubt has the potential to develop into a #1 WR for years.

Epps is a huge recruiting win for this staff. BYU swooped in late and offered Epps and also got him to sign during the Early Signing period before Pac 12 schools could come in before National Signing Day in February. As it stands now, Epps is BYU’s highest rated signee/commitment according to 247 Sports.

Adam Gorney, national recruiting analyst for Rivals, had this to say about Epps.
