One day after signing with BYU, Mater Dei (CA) wide receiver Kody Epps was named High School First Team All-American by USA Today. Epps was one of four wide receivers on the list.
Epps’ stats were absolutely bonkers this season, as he finished with 93 catches for 1,735 yards and 28 touchdowns. He had a two-game playoff stretch in which he had 21 receptions for 507 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Epps is BYU’s highest rated recruit in the 2020 class and is expected to be an immediate contributor next season. He has very refined route running to go along with great hands and good agility and speed in the open field. Epps had an Oregon offer early on, but was largely under-recruited by P5 schools, to the surprise of national recruiting pundits.

Very big pickup for #BYU and a major steal because he was good enough to play in the Pac-12 for sure https://t.co/KWPrtErbSS

P5 schools may have missed out on him, but BYU is the beneficiary as they get an uber-productive receiver from one of the top high schools in the nation.
