BYU Basketball cruises in easy win over Weber State

NCAA Basketball: Weber State at Brigham Young Jeff Swinger-USA TODAY Sports

Hot shooting propelled BYU (10-4) to a huge first half lead and the Cougars cruised the rest of the way as they beat Weber State 91-61 Saturday night.

BYU shot 80% in the first half, including a perfect 10-10 from Yoeli Childs, and raced to a 51-24 first half lead. Yoeli Childs led all scorers with 28 points as the Wildcats had no answer for BYU’s star big man. Alex Barcello added 18 points and three other Cougars finished the night in double figures.

BYU shot 62.5%, held WSU to 42.9% shooting and out-rebounded the Wildcats 36-26. BYU also had 25 assists on 35 made field goals.

Kolby Lee suffered a minor knee injury this week and did not play; sources tell Vanquish the Foe that the big man is expected to miss approximately three weeks and is not expected to need surgery.

BYU next takes a holiday break as they face off next Saturday at home versus Oral Roberts.
