After accepting the Hawaii Bowl bid last month, BYU found out today that they will face the hometown Hawaii Rainbow Warriors on Christmas Eve.

Hawaii (9-5) won the Mountain West Western division and lost Saturday to Boise State in the conference title game. They bring a high flying passing game that will test BYU’s defense, averaging 325.6 yards per game — good for 6th nationally. QB Cole McDonald has thrown for 3,642 yards, 29 TDs and 14 interceptions and 3 different Hawaii receivers have have over 975 receiving yards on the season.

The Hawaii defense has been spotty this year, giving up over 30 ppg and over 200 rushing and receiving yards per game. Overall, Hawaii is 6-2 this season on its home field.

BYU and Hawaii will kickoff December 24 at 6pm MST on ESPN.
